Located in the Southern hemisphere between the Tropics of Capricorn and Cancer, Peru is strategically located in the center of South America (towards the west).
Peru doesn't require a Tourist Visa from the citizens of many countries. Citizens of countries such as the US, Canada, England, Ireland, France, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Australia, Japan, Israel and the Netherlands don't need a Visa to enter Peru. (A full list of countries can be found at this link). All these travelers need is a valid passport with an expiration date of no less than six months and three blank pages. A traveler with a tourist visa won't be allowed to stay more than 183 days.
Peru can be visited by air, sea and land. Jorge Chavez Airport, essentially Peru’s only international airport, is located in El Callao, Lima. International cruises use the ports of El Callao, Ilo, Matarani, Salaverry and Paita. The main points of access by land are located in the Region of Tumbes (northern border with Ecuador), in the Region of Tacna (southern border with Chile), in the Region of Puno (eastern border with Bolivia)and in the Region of Puerto Maldonado (eastern border with Brazil).
Peru has three operational international airports, but only one is able to handle large aircrafts. This is the Jorge Chávez Airport located in "Callao," in the Region of Lima. See below for more details:

Arrivals and Departures: This airport receives flights from all the main cities in the world. All departures and arrivals can be checked at the Jorge Chávez International Airport site. Follow the link and look for "flight information" located to the left of the screen.
